Outdoor Learning

All Year Groups will access our Forest School Style Learning throughout their time at Walsh Church of England Junior School.

We are looking towards this approach because Forest school helps and facilitates more than knowledge-gathering, it helps learners develop socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically and intellectually. It creates a safe, non-judgemental nurturing environment for learners to try stuff out and take risks. Inspiring a deep and meaningful connection to the world and an understanding of how a learner fits within it.

It has been found to support resilience and perseverance back in the classroom, as the children have been able to practice these skills in a place that is removed from the more academic side of school. We believe in the current world and with what has happened these skills and opportunities to be outside are even more important.
