As part of our community project this half term, Year 5 have been visiting Shawfield Day Centre to learn more about the people in their community. During English lessons this week, the children have created their own questionnaires and have been practising their speaking and listening skills. The staff at Shawfield Day Centre commented on the excellent behaviour and positive attitude of our children when they visited.
‘I enjoyed going there as we had an opportunity to speak to the elderly people. I liked listening to their stories about their lives and where they had worked.’ Nadine – Holst
Next week, the children will be visiting Ash Museum and St. Peter’s Church on Thursday to find out more information about their community and the history of their local area.
