Today has been Values Day at Walsh Junior, and has been a really enjoyable and thought provoking day for the children—do talk to them about it.
The children have worked in mixed class/age groups throughout the day, taking part in four workshops linked to our school values. We focussed in particular on honesty, respect, forgiveness and friendship—all of which we feel are important at our school. In collective worship this morning we focussed on treating others how we wish to be treated, our values theme for this half term. Children all
considered that they have ‘choices’ in how to behave towards each other and that our school is a better place for everyone if we treat each other kindly. We will continue to focus on our values throughout the year.
Thank you also for your ‘Jeans for Genes’ day donations—the charity will be delighted by your generosity.
Thank you for your support today with Jeans for Genes Day and to the children for making an effort to wear something denim. We managed to raise £227.00 for Genetic Disorders UK!
