On Thursday 21st September Year 5 went to Manor Farm Country Park in Southampton. All of the children and staff dressed up in Victorian outfits and discovered what life would have been like as a worker on a Victorian farm. The children had an opportunity to use farm tools, milk a cow, feed farm animals,
experience a wash day and attend a Victorian school.
"Year 5 really enjoyed their trip to Manor Farm. The milling was my favourite part. I really like grinding the wheat to make flour. Because we had spare time, we fed a cow, saw alpacas and cute piglets." (Mae, Lowry)
"The Victorian School was really good because we got to write with a nib and ink. Our Victorian teacher was really strict but funny at the same time." (Serafina, Lowry)
