On Monday the Library Bus was officially opened! Mrs Boyce and Mrs Roper were dressed as characters from the book ‘Gangsta Granny.’ It is very
exciting for all of us to have a dedicated library space, just for books and reading and not shared with anything else! We are sure our new library will enthuse the children to read and provide a great place to spend time in.
Our Reading Ambassadors did a sterling job, they read a poem before Mrs Boyce (who was dressed as Gangsta Granny) cut the ribbon. They showed our specially invited guests around the bus and joined them for tea and cake afterwards.
The children and staff all dressed up as book characters, and looked amazing. They all had the opportunity to go on the bus during the day and choose a library book. Many parents have also come to have a look during the week.
The Library Bus will be open to the children to use every lunchtime and each class will also be given a time to use it during the week. Hopefully we will be able to open the bus after school too.
THANK YOU so much to everyone who has provided help and support for the project - we appreciate all of the practical help as well as the financial assistance . THE WHOLE COMMUNITY HAS BEEN TRULY AMAZING!
