On Friday 19 May, twelve children from Year 5 represented our school in the community at the Ash Centre, Ash. The event was the official launch of the Ash Parish Dementia Action Alliance. As part of this launch, the children served tea with sandwiches and spoke to the guests who attended. Many compliments were made about the children’s excellent behaviour from people who attended the event and Mrs Boyce and Miss Cook were impressed with their hosting skills. Thank you to all of the children who made this event a success.
We got a lovely thank you letter following the event:
Dear Mrs Boyce
We would just like to express our sincere thanks to yourself, Miss Cook and the delightful children that attended the launch of the Ash Parish Dementia Action Alliance on Friday. I hope the children enjoyed the experience as much as the guests at the event did, they worked really hard. We had a lot of positive feedback about the children and it was fantastic to see them interacting with the elderly people, some of which were living with Dementia. It looked as if the children
enjoyed the singing too!
