On Wednesday 3rd February, Year 5 and 6 had an assembly presented by Piers from Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for disabled people who showed the children the Bugzi.
The Bugzi is an electronic wheelchair for children from 1-6 years of age. It’s designed to help disabled children who struggle with walking. It allows young children a chance at being independent and getting up to things that any 1-6 year old would do. It also gives them freedom in their early years. The Bugzi can be manoeuvred by a joystick or buttons. The joystick is like a joystick from any gaming console. The position that the joystick is
being pushed is the direction the Bugzi will move. The buttons are mainly used for
younger people because they are easier to control. The buttons make the Bugzi move forwards and backwards.
