This year as a school we are taking part in 40 Acts for Lent.
40acts is the generosity challenge for Lent, created by UK Christian charity, Stewardship. For seven years, 40acts has asked a question: what if Lent could be about more than just giving stuff up? What if it could be a time of radical generosity as well as spiritual discipline?
Each day during the period of Lent, children and staff in school will be invited to take part in a daily act if they wish to. The acts are simple and all aimed at helping to create an even kinder, loving and generous school community. For example so far this week the acts have been:
1) Give someone a nice compliment.
2) Help tidy your classroom without being asked.
3) Send a letter, card or picture to an adult who is important to you.
Each week we will publish the act for Saturday on the newsletter if you would like to take part as a family.
There is also a fuller version of the 40 acts aimed more at adults available. If you are interested details can be found at www.40acts.org.uk
This weekend's act:
"Be the first to say sorry to somebody."
